Post-and-rail fencing

‘Post-and-rail’ is a generic term used to describe a fencing system that uses a solid timber post with horizontal rails fastened between the posts.

Sturdy post-and-rail fencing is a very simple, effective and easily installed style of open fencing.

The number of rails is determined by the client.

Stock netting can also be attached to secure the fence against smaller animals getting in or out.

Sussex post-and-rail

The same as a regular post-and-rail but uses cleaved chestnut.

Chestnut rails are cut to 9ft 6” long. Posts are normally cut at 6ft 6” and cleaved in the same fashion. They are then morticed.

It is also known as ‘Sussex post-and-rail’ because chestnut has traditionally been grown in Sussex and Kent.

As an alternative, sawn morticed posts can be used instead of the cleft version.

Climbing frames and dens

There’s nothing better than seeing children when they’re happy and active. We can create a bespoke climbing frame and or children’s den area, guaranteeing endless fun and quality outdoor time.
